Poitive Signs
With our first match on level 3 under our belts, a move to consolidate
is
now top priority. We discussed the motives for the move in the previous
edition of this fanzine and while there were a few expected teething
problems, BWB was happy, without being jubilant in the way things panned
out. The positives did outweigh the negatives and for that we walked away
from the stadium speaking of the sub standard performance of the team
rather
than that of the North Terrace. A role reversal if you like when you compare
the feats of last season.
Some are still intent on trying to dissect reasons in why BWB chose to
move
away from the ground level. The decision has been made and will not change.
For reasons which have already been highlighted in the past, this is the
best scenario for active support and its longevity at a stadium which
sometimes seems intent in thwarting terrace culture. Again, we are not
abandoning the Terrace, rather, we are still at the very heart of it.
Level
3 is the future of active support at Docklands.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with familiar faces and belting out new
chants
mixed with signature favourites was a welcome sight for BWB. It had been
a
long time since NT regulars had been this passionate. You could see it
in
their faces. It was brilliant!
Approaching kick off for the second half against Perth in round 2, it
came
as no surprise that the throng on level 3 had swelled. There is no problem
with that, in fact we endorse it. However, if you choose level 3 as your
preferred vantage point then please keep in mind that it requires 100%
Co-ordination, 100% commitment and 100% participation. This cannot and
will
not be compromised. If you cannot meet these criteria then once again
we ask
you, what are you doing there in the first place?
Finally, it pains me to say that I will not be in attendance for this
match
against the ladder leaders. The first home match I will miss in our short
existence. I have a family function to attend. If you are standing on
level
3 reading this then it should go without saying that you respect the Capo
today, whoever that may be. Please give them the same respect that you've
shown me over the last two years.
