Get Educated and then get active

Is a slogan that BWB often promote to those who choose to stand with us.
But what does it mean. For many people it may mean simply a slogan to
regurgitate when defending your stance to those who support on the peri-
phery of what you deem football culture. For others it something that is
read but never really thought about.

But such pretence does not help what BWB is trying to convey nor does it
help the north terrace as we rebuild and move forward.

Essentially the football mentality of those who stand in BWB has always
been about generating ‘active support’ for the boys out on the park who
represent our great city. Broken down it’s about

• 100% participation, 100% co-ordination, discipline
• respecting the game of football
• respecting the capo

Now getting educated is not about learning new chants it’s about
• understanding your role when it comes to supporting football
• understanding the culture in which football exist in this country
• What you will or wont tolerate as a football lover

Exercising your right to think where you can critically access the current
situation, the people around you and the way forward in the north terrace
will determine how active you are within the confines of 90 minutes of foot-
ball or in everyday life.

What is often forgotten or overlooked is that simple orchestrated active
support such as chanting build unity where many people come together, get
to know it each other and in time respect each others strengths and wea-
nesses. The move to level 3 has brought a large contingent of various peo-
ple, who BWB know want to achieve a level of support and awareness that
puts football above all else (Football Über Alles). Melbourne belongs to
us and nothing should compromise sidetrack our agenda or derail our efforts.

So be loud…be active…be disciplined and be united…

It is this unity that gives us a voice, and in a time a voice that will not
be silenced.
